A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of hosting my first Maverick Round Table Group. Typically, y’all are graced by the presence of the one and only Round Table Wrangler, Lara Jaeger. But on this occasion, Lara’s attention was in demand with her real life “mini-me” (please see photo below). Hence, as her second in command I got to step in.
The group consisted of Maverick Member #35 Douglas Doebler, #100 William Lee, #180 Udo Gollub and #187 Josh Fonger. These guys all come from unique backgrounds, so I was excited to be that “fly on the wall.” They each took a turn talking about what they had been up to, what was new in their lives and companies, and what it was they needed help with. Udo has a new Facebook affiliate group that only allows people who make a certain amount of money to join. His goal is to grow the affiliate program by 100% in 6 months. He asked the group about what questions he should ask his affiliates. Josh just started a new coaching program that is going well. He and Sam Carpenter are also planning a unique 3 day weekend, where 3 companies will be able to show up and receive one on one training on managing their business from Sam and Josh. Josh is looking to hire someone who is an infusionsoft expert. William, as always, is busy with all sorts of cool projects. He just hired his friend of 13 years Chris to assist him in launching the Airsoft (military style, realistic game that involves guns shooting bb’s at each other) in Costa Rica. He is also considering building a food app that links foodies together and customizes recommendations based on what people like. He, Jerry and Todd will begin shooting their pilot for a motorcycle/food show next week. And Doug…well, he is living the good life, keeping himself busy with a good game of golf.
And you will never guess what happened next….they started doing crazy things like connecting, offering each other feedback and resources, and ultimately catapulting each other over obstacles. It was awesome.
So what are these Round Table Groups?
A Maverick Round Table group consists of about 6-8 members coming together with one goal…to accelerate the growth of each member’s business, lifestyle and impact to new levels. Each month members will meet together virtually to share successes, new resources and get advice on pressing problems or opportunities while keeping each other accountable. The best part is you can meet conveniently from your home, office or on the road via the online or dial-in platform.
As amazing as this is…wait for it…it’s about to get even better! Recently, Yanik came up with an idea for doing perhaps 2-3 “open” round tables per month with a topic theme (i.e. Sales & Marketing, Digital marketing). Basically, it’s an opportunity for you, the Maverick members, to put your business needs out there into the Maverick network and get the answers you are looking for.
You would be notified ahead of time when these open Round Tables would take place and you will be able to show up with 5 min of awesome stuff to share on that topic. It doesn’t have to be a powerpoint but it can be. The first 6-8 people present along with everyone else who joins in can be part of discussion or Q&A. And in Maverick style we would probably have a wonderful and silly prize for the best info presented.
These groups will not supersede the current Round Tables but will provide an easy way for members not in one to jump in and out of some and learn from each other. Plus we’ll record them all and post in the members site for everyone to reference.
