Introducing…
Terra Goeres, Maverick Member #122
Terra Goeres is President and Founder of The Net Momentum Corp, a leading provider of outsourced affiliate management, joint venture brokering and business development for the internet marketing industry. Terra is also a partner with Exceptional Media Limited, representing their interests as one of the largest vendors of digital products on ClickBank in such niches as Forex, IM and sports betting.
Prior to founding The Net Momentum, Terra was most recently Director of Client Development at ClickBank, the world’s largest business platform for vendors of digitally downloadable products, operating the largest global affiliate network. An early employee at ClickBank, she started with the company in May 2000—as employee #7 in a customer service position—and grew to positions of progressively greater responsibility. In her time at ClickBank, Terra helped grow ClickBank’s revenues from approximately $20 million annually in 2000, to over $380 million in 2010.
In her most recent position at ClickBank, Terra created and implemented the ClickBank Apex and Premier programs, designed to recognize and reward ClickBank’s largest and most successful vendors and affiliates. Through her leadership and vision, these programs have been responsible for the retention and revenue growth of vendors and affiliates who accounted for more than 83% of ClickBank’s revenues. Since then, a4uexpo in London has nominated ClickBank’s Apex program for the honor of World’s Most Successful Affiliate Management Program.
Terra’s long and successful career with ClickBank, and her ability to deftly manage the company’s vendor and affiliate relationships, has given Terra a unique insight into the business of internet marketing and how it has grown and changed over the years—insights that allow her to build strong and lasting relationships, which she can leverage to the benefit of her clients.
Terra holds a BA in Organizational Communications from the University of Montana, and when she is not “working away,” she can be found “working out” at the gym; traveling, motorcycling, water-skiing, snow-shoeing or snowmobiling—depending on the season.
John Ratliff, Maverick Member #129
John graduated from the University of Delaware in 1992, with Bachelor Degrees in both Marketing and Finance. While he knew from a very young age that entrepreneurship was his calling, he didn’t have the funds to start his own company. Instead, he went to work for a small wireless agency in the Philadelphia area, which represented Comcast Metrophone, the local wireless carrier. After saving every penny for six months as a commission-only salesperson, John left to start his own firm. And thus, Main Line Cellular was born in the Spring of 1993.
John grew his business steadily over a two-year period, at which point his original
employer reached out to him to make an offer on the company. So John sold the business…and then needed something to do.
After some very unsophisticated research, John decided to open Appletree Answers, a high-touch inbound call center / customer service company. The next five years were the most difficult stretch of his life, as the business was in peril of failing the entire way. However though a series of lucky breaks (and even luckier decisions), Appletree finally began to scale. By 2000, the company was cash flow positive and things had settled down—and in 2002, the company finally broke the $1 million mark and started to generate profits. The real break came in 2003, when Appletree convinced their bank to finance two acquisitions in a 60 day span—and by July 15th of 2003, the company borrowed more money than their entire revenue from 2002!
John used the acquisitions in 2003 as a springboard to launch the company to its current size. Today, Appletree employs nearly 600 people in 22 offices around the United
States and Puerto Rico, with nearly $30 million in company revenue.
While John’s first passion is probably growing his company, he is also passionate about general aviation—and he’s managed to work that passion into growing his company. Appletree currently owns a Cirrus SR22 airplane, which John happily pilots, and among the company’s 22 offices, 16 are accessible via the airplane. Thus, the executive team spends a great deal of time in the air—with John in the pilot’s seat, of course.
When not flying and/or building his company, John maintains his other passions in offshore fishing and golf, and enjoys time with his wife Lynn and three children—his son Reece (8), his daughter Mackenzie (6) and his son Branden (2).
Welcome Mavericks Terra and John! We’re excited to have you with us and can’t wait to meet you!
