Introducing…

Thats right, our Maverick family is growing! Check out what Ian has to say about himself and his new role below:
Ian Lingwood, Maverick DNA Decoder – Washington DC
“ When I was a little kid, I was such a sore loser. But over time, I have learned to take both victories and defeats with grace …“
Who is this Ian guy anyway?
It all started back when I was in college. Through internships at several different golf courses, I managed to learn and gain experience in all aspects of sales and maintaining new memberships. It did not take long until I landed my first job in Washington DC as a Member Relations Representative for Club Corp: an elite collection of private golf and country clubs, business clubs, sports clubs and alumni clubs. Within a year, I was promoted to Coordinator to the Director. This new position required me to apply my skills in Marketing Communications, Public Relations and cultivating private referrals made within a member’s only club.
I am excited to apply all that I have learned throughout my experience at Club Corp to my new position with Maverick 1000 as the Maverick DNA Decoder. I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you better!
Why are you a good fit for Maverick 1000?
Besides being young, fun and adventurous? Well, when I am not working, I enjoy doing all sorts of fun things with my friends. I think that being active is the best way to connect with and meet new people. There is a great relationship between helping people out and getting unexpected results.
Super Hero Skills?
I am super optimistic, ALWAYS! I always seek out the best in people and situations. I am also crazy competitive. When I was a little kid, I was such a sore loser. But over time, I have learned to take both victories and defeats with grace, keeping in mind that the long tern good comes out of short term situations.
What are you hoping to gain and learn from the Mavericks?
I am looking forward to just taking in the Maverick culture. Coming from a Corporate situation to one where my time is free is completely new for me. I want to learn from the Mavericks so that I too can be an entrepreneur.

I am on the board of S.O.M.E – So Others Might Eat. This is a Washington DC Charity that supports breaking the cycle of homelessness. We work with people who have just gotten out of rehab and are in need of a place to live. We provide them with free housing while they are in the process of getting their feet back on the ground. As they enter back into the swing of things, we start charging them rent.
