My man Chuck D. says, “There is no is without a was.” I believe him. The smashing success that was Underground 007 can be attributed, at least in part, to the foundation laid by Undergrounds 1 – 6 and the hard line Yanik has taken around the tenets of value and customer experience. As the accouterments at most events have become squeezed, the value of an Underground ticket continues to expand. It’s an experience we here at World Headquarters (aka: wherever the laptop and it’s swordsman find themselves) are proud to produce.
The same can be said of the Maverick presence at Underground. Each year, more and more of you—the rogue entrepreneurs who make up one of the most exclusive, irreverent, impactful and FUN business memberships in the world—converge upon the nation’s capital to learn, network and close-talk at unsafe decibel levels (Anthropological term: “Maverick Bar Communication”).
And if you’re Jerry Romine, Maverick1000 Member #34, you come to get some much-needed rest as well. Life out in sunny Arizona is apparently tougher than he lets on.
This year saw Dan Sullivan storm the Maverick beaches with an incredible day of strategic coaching, along with the most successful Charity Power Hour yet. Hosted by Esteemed Maverick1000 Shepard, Chris Zavadowski (Maverick1000 Member #4), this year’s Power Hour reached new heights when a (non-Maverick) participant was taken out on a stretcher (I’m told he’s fine) and over $5,000 was raised for charity. (Nothing was given to stretcher boy.) Keep on reading for the full Charity Power Hour story from Chris…
All in all, deals were struck, alarm clocks were scoffed at, new members were introduced and resources were shared. If you’re like me, you returned home inspired—full of motivation, new ideas and an iPhone photo library that should keep me stocked in free drinks for the foreseeable future.
Thank you all for making the time, the trek and the commitment to one another and to our Maverick1000 membership. I’ll quote another well known rapper to close:
“WINNING!”

Andrew: out.
