Opportunity Village and The IMPACT
An important part of being a Maverick is harboring a desire to give back and executing all sorts of means in having an IMPACT on our communities. The 3X Multiplier trips are a prime opportunity for members to get involved in “giving back.” In San Francisco we spent time with the National Association of Blind Merchants and donated $1,333.00 from the Maverick IMPACT Fund. In Chicago we visited Dreams for Kids and donated $5,000.00. In Vegas we spent time with the cool peeps at Opportunity Village, a non-profit that serves people in Southern Nevada with intellectual disabilities. “Opportunity Village is dedicated to helping people with severe intellectual and related disabilities become the very best they can be.” The Mavericks spent their day touring the facility and brainstorming ways to increase awareness of their awesome non profit. At the end of their tour, the Mavericks donated $4,500.00 and walked away feeling deeply impacted by the warmth and love of Opportunity Village residents. Check out some pictures below:

Also, as Sophia mentioned in a Facebook post, the Executive Director of Opportunity Village wrote a beautiful letter of thanks to the Mavericks for their visit. Check out this excerpt:
“…We loved having your group at Opportunity Village and would welcome further involvement. Our team came back to our desks very energized and filled with optimism. You should know that this morning many of our OVIP”s asked me if the “good looking guys” will come back to see them!! You could pick our artists off the ceiling today as they are all abuzz about $3,000 of art and scarf sales.”
Way to go Mavericks! The IMPACT you all make on our communities has a ripple affect that just keeps going.
