Hey Mavericks!
By now you should be getting into full action mode for 2012. I’m really excited, because it really feels like the individuals who are doing Big Things (i.e. Mavericks and other innovative entrepreneurs) are kicking it up a notch. We’re turning a corner and entering a new phase of collective contribution.
The past few years have been sort of “sideways” for some people, but the companies who come out the other end are going to be stronger, more nimble, more value-focused, more authentic and even more impactful. I can barely sleep these days thinking about the possibilities Mavericks have to create a massive ripple for entrepreneurs across the planet.
It’s definitely been an evolution for Maverick over the past few years — and The Core has never waivered. It’s always been about these 3 pillars:
However looking deeper, I’ve come to realize the most important thing we can do is provide you with powerful connections across a global network of Maverick entrepreneurs… so all of these three areas are automatically multiplied.
Where We’ve Been and Where We’re Going
When I originally started Maverick, it was just about Maverick Business Adventures, closely geared around using adventure and unique experiences to create bonds. While I still wholeheartedly believe this creates a deep connection, it’s not the only aspect of membership we focus on — which is why there was the name change some time ago to “Maverick1000.”
I called it Maverick1000 because I believe a small group of 1,000 extraordinary individuals and leaders can (dare I say it?) change the world. Fact is, my faith is in the power of entrepreneurship to create value, innovation and change. And our select group of game-changers is designed to support your business and personal and philanthropic goals….all while having a hell of a lot of fun in the process!
At the Maverick M3 Summit in Miami last month, I introduced the big picture of the “Maverick ECO System,” and our 2015 Maverick Mission. The ECO system is about serving Maverick entrepreneurs from startup to growth, to legacy… and then closing back in to seed the next generation.
And it shows how the different divisions collaborate with each of the rest, creating a rising tide that lifts all boats. (I’ll be sharing more shortly with a full presentation.)
Our focus for 2012 is to leverage the 5 “Maverick Capital C’s,” to help you get to the next level in your business and personal life.
- Concept Capital – Big ideas from Maverick members on what’s working right now in their businesses and personal lives.
- Connection Capital – Powerful bonds that Maverick1000 members share, to develop meaningful relationships, referrals, recommendations, and their broad network of connections. Through the Maverick1000 network — and the extended Maverick network — it’s easy to find the right person or resource you need.
- Capability Capital – Maverick1000 members have extensive business and personal experience that other members can profit from. Everything from cutting-edge online marketing techniques to “fast growth” business strategies.
- Channel Capital – Between having access to 92+ different industries and marketplaces, cross-channel distribution and massive customer databases, members can leverage existing business models and grow new ones. Sometimes it’s as simple as sending a promotion to an existing group of customers for another member’s product; and other times it can further reaching, like opening up a new distribution partner in another part of the world.
- Collaboration Capital – At the highest levels, many Maverick members have jointly collaborated to bring new products and services to market. These are true high-level joint ventures, with each member bringing his or her unique strengths to the table to create something bigger than before.

So for 2012, if I were going to pare everything down, it’d be:
Connect. Collaborate. Catalyze.

New Member Site — Coming Soon
We’ll be enhancing the network connection even more with a complete redesign for the Maverick1000 member site. Here are a few screenshots so you can see the power of what we’re building.
One of the main elements is the new Dashboard. You’ll be able to post in 3 different areas (matching our core Maverick pillars), and be able to get help or share in each area.
You’ll also be able to easily search for Capabilities amongst your fellow members:

And there are also other enhancements, like a Q&A page to archive answers to previous questions, and of course, a “Learning Library” of exclusive content from Maverick events, webinars and private sessions. We’re working on final tweaks with our programmers, but I’m ultra excited to share it once its ready — and say goodbye to our old site.
The Maverick Brain (It’s Alive!)
Another way we’re enhancing your connections within and around the Maverick network is by starting to use “The Brain.” Many members tap into me personally for introductions to new partners (ie. Channel Capital), to promote their existing product or find new markets. And one of my skills is creating unique relationships across different and diverse groups, so I’m good at this — but everything has basically lived in my head. However using The Brain software, I’ll not only be able to give you deeper and more meaningful connections, but our entire team will be able to connect the dots too.

We’re looking into a possible web-based collaborative version, so the entire Maverick1000 network can participate in building onto this. Check out the www.TheBrain.com for your own version of this software. With a little bit of time to learn how it works, you’ll see the visual documentation of connections is pretty astounding.
Maverick Events — (They’re Alive!)
There’s no better way to connect than live — face-to-face — and we’re doing more events and experiences for Mavericks around the country (and world). In fact, we just finished our most recent installment of the Dangerous Dinner Series: Without a Net in Austin, TX. You’ll see more of these this year… and look out for ‘Maverick Multiplier Days” tacked onto other things we’re doing too.
As you can tell, there’s a lot of good stuff going on now — and with an even more diverse group of game-changing entrepreneurs than ever before, who want to accelerate their contributions — the Maverick network is growing even stronger. That’s why we’re looking for existing members to help grow the network with a little fun push…
