The “Maverick Ripple” Continues in Haiti…
from M1000 Member #35 Doug Doebler
Hey Mavericks!
Wanted to share some recent updates from our IMPACT in Haiti this season. This is the school Maverick1000 Member #36 Tom Puentes donated to last October… and the work was completed in November, when Scott Bonnel was there. I visited this location in 2010, and we’ll be visiting it again on this year’s upcoming Haiti IMPACT trip in February.
This school is for 20 kids who were orphaned during the 2010 earthquake. The property will be a home for them, a school for them — along with many other kids — and a money-making water tower that helps pay for the operations. Note the lady buying water from the water tower operation (blue area). Once again, all a result of our 2011 Maverick Trip!
Also…
Earlier this month, Marilyn Lowney from the Haitian Health Foundation forwarded me these photos, to confirm the container of solar panels made it to Jeremie, Haiti recently. Apparently there were so many, they took all day to unload!
