We will be adventuring to Antarctica in the most epic way possible, skipping the rough seas of the Drake via private chartered flight and will be calling one of the most luxurious and environmentally friendly expedition vessels home as we sail the majestic waters of Antarctica.

This impactful expedition will be in support of Ocean Unite’s 30×30 initiative to conserve 30% of the World’s Ocean by 30×30 with a focus on the Preservation of Antarctica.

Aboard The Magellan Explorer

Magellan Explorer is a new and modern expedition vessel custom-built to the latest Polar Code specifications while limiting the environmental impacts of voyaging. All cabins feature private balconies, a wardrobe, individually controlled heating system, a sitting area, and a private en suite.

The ship boasts a glass-enclosed observation lounge, a spacious and stylish dining room, a well-stocked bar, a library, a gym, a sauna, and a medical clinic. An Impact Expedition to the Seventh Continent

The Journey Begins In Patagonia

Arrive in Punta Arenas, Chile, for a warm welcome at the boutique Cabo de Hornos hotel, before a briefing and welcome dinner at Explorers House.

Feb 1

Arrival In Antarctica

Your Antarctic adventure begins with a two-hour chartered flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island, in the South Shetland Islands. As you exit the airplane, the clear Antarctic air fills your lungs for the first time. Then walk past Chile’s Frei Station and Russia’s Bellingshausen Station, to reach the shore and board a Zodiac that will take you to our Maverick expedition vessel.

Feb 1 – 6

Exploring Antarctica

Your itinerary is flexible in order to make the best of weather and ice conditions. Your Expedition Captain will discuss options and make landing decisions each day.

Cruise between the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, sailing along ice-filled fjords and among spectacular icebergs, while enjoying the company of seabirds, penguins, seals and whales. Disembark with our expert polar guides having time to either hike, snowshoe, or kayak in bays nearby. Visit research stations along the way as well as the southernmost bar in the world, as you follow in the footsteps of famous Antarctic explorers, like Ernest Shackleton, and learn about their daring southerly adventures. Maverick mischief, magic, music, and mayhem await you with some special surprises along the way..

Feb 6

Fly The Drake, Farewell Fiesta

Return to King George Island and bid farewell to Antarctica before boarding the flight back to Punta Arenas. Upon arrival, transfer back to the Cabo de Hornos hotel for the night and our farewell dinner party.

Feb 7

Safe Travels Home

After breakfast, transfer to the Punta Arenas airport for your onward flight or extensions around Patagonia.

Roundtrip airport transfers and 2-night accommodations in Punta Arenas (pre and post-cruise)
5-night accommodations in a suite cabin aboard the Magellan Explorer. Cabins are equipped with 1 king or two twin beds, private facilities and a balcony. (Note all accommodations are based on double occupancy)
